How that sum was calculated, I have no idea. When I figured it out, that seemed like a lot of money. I'd be a millionaire.<br /><br />My yearly social security statement just came in the mail. I made a little spreadsheet to see where I am in my goal. Turns out I'm about half way to a million, at half way to the end of working.<br /><br />In my original calculation, I didn't take into account inflation or recession or real estate prices. I didn't take into account that the million would be paid in installments.<br /><br />I needed better math in high school. My life is comfortable, I have it better than a lot of people.
